MEET THE FACES BEHIND SARICH DESIGN & BUILD
The decision of which building company to trust with the construction of your dream home can be a huge and daunting task. Sarich Design and Build is a growing company, with an emphasis on employing and developing the best quality tradesmen in the market. We believe that a supportive culture and team environment is the foundation to a successful business.
Our teams are led by highly-skilled and experienced trade qualified and licensed builders. They help oversee and develop our apprentices to achieve their certifications, with the support of The Building and Construction Training Organisation. We are dedicated to remaining abreast of industry changes and continually expanding our knowledge.
Our values mean we treat our team like a family, with an emphasis on support and a great culture. We believe valued staff are more productive and motivated, which translates to a happier worksite and a higher-quality product for our clients.
General Manager and Co-Founder
Bevan began building apprenticeship in 1998, qualifying in 2001.
Was fortunate that the first years of experience were with a high end building company to set the foundations and standards for my career.
I travelled and lived in London, gaining valuable experience learning what to do – and in some cases, what not to do! – to provide a final product that stands the test of time and is something to be proud of.
I founded Sarich Design and Build in 2010 with my wife Kelly after returning home from the United Kingdom. I wanted to continue with the underlying philosophy to deliver high quality homes through high quality workmanship, experience, trusted communication, transparency, and reliability.
There is a sense of pride in being able to step back and say, “Hey, I built that” – to create something to perfection out of materials.
Office Manager and Co-Founder
Kelly’s background in Nursing has provided her with strong organisational skills and a passion for people which she applies to her role as Co-Founder and Office Manager. Her change in career to being part of a successful building company has involved considerable refocus and required development of new skills. Her previous experiences and strengths in the healthcare industry are applicable to her role as office manager in that she is detail-oriented, prioritises client needs, and supports other members of her team. Kelly is the driving force behind the administrative component of the business, and being part of the day to day running of the business has increased her understanding of how to support clients and ensure their projects run smoothly.
Bruce studied at Manukau Institute of Technology, and became trade qualified in 1997. Bruce has experience with alterations and renovations in both a commercial and residential capacity, and has trained three apprentices. Bruce is a family man with two sons and enjoys fishing, cars, and rugby. His previous experiences include: building two houses on Waiheke Island, building a garage for Graham Henry, building a barn for Phill Goff, and constructing a huge house on the Great Barrier Island.
I was raised on a farm in Hicks Bay East Coast, the family moved to Tauranga in 1990 where I finish intermediate school and college. I started a apprenticeship in 1996 after leaving school and qualified with cabinet making trade certificate and then decided I needed another challenge so I then started building in 2006 and started an adult apprenticeship, which I qualified in 2011. From there I have mainly done residential work, new builds and renovations.
I have been working with Bevan since October 2015 and have found him to be very easy to relate to and we have a great working relationship. Building and cabinet making for me have the same thrill which is seeing the finished product and taking pride in what you have achieved.
Growing up on a farm I love the outdoors and try to get out for a deer stalk and a duck shoot (in season) when I can. I am now a site manager and love the challenge that comes with it, Bevan and the team are all ways trying to improve the way we operate as to be more efficient on site.
